Sangharakshita Land Project

Welcome

Within these pages you’ll find all the latest developments of the Sangharakshita Land Project.

The project’s vision is to create a land for Triratna where the Order and Community can gather: to pay homage to our teacher, for kalyana mitrata, for Dhamma instruction, for meditation and reflection, to retreat, to work, to live, to honour the dead, to celebrate, to meet in large numbers.

Initially the aim is to create three residential communities, a Dharma Training Centre and a library and Exhibition Space set within a landscape of 100 – 300 acres. For further details please read Mokshapriya’s blog posts.

At the moment we are still searching for the right site and only once that is secured can an accurate phased brief be detailed because the site we find will dictate such factors as the number of usable buildings, the accessibility for ‘right livelihood’ projects and so on. But the project is already exploring what might be associated with the land and that is dependent on the participation of Order members and members of the Triratna Community. For example will there be a Women’s Vihara, an Arts Retreat Centre, a hospice, a Buddhafield project, a garden nursery?  We hope that anyone interested in proposing ideas or projects will contact Mokshapriya or Karunika.

As associated projects take shape pages will appear on this website with further details. In the meantime please explore and do let us know what you think and whether you’d like to be involved.
